Downtown Monroe City

Below is the root cellar behind the former Byers home in downtown Monroe City.  The brickwork was presumably an oven at some point.

This retaining wall opens the entrance to the root cellar.

Below are the remains of the summer kitchen behind the former Yarbrough home in downtown Monroe City.  Note the gunsight vents which are very typical to these types of buildings.
