The Bridges of Monroe City

This bridge is an excellent example of fine rockwork.  The arches are capped with nice keystones.  It has required a substantial amount of repair to turn back the ravages of the creek which runs extremely high during hard rainstorms.  The foundations at the base of the arch on both sides have been reinforced with concrete piers.  Mark, Alan, and Sean rebuilt the eroded rocks and mortar in 2006 and 2007.  The bridge regularly withstands heavy farm loads.

The bridge on Baum Road

Above are the remains of the old bridge up the hill by Gary's house.  Apparently this was on the old road to Maeystown which must have run through Wilma Johnson's front yard.

Below is the underpinning of the low bridge on the driveway to Gary's house.
