During the Great Depression, the Roosevelt Administration created the Civilian Conservation Corp as a way to put people to work on conservation-oriented projects. The CCC built this dam on the hillside as a way to control erosion. The remains of the dam are located up the small hollow across Baum Road from Rosalie Baum's house.
